Behind the Brand

Michelle, I'm so excited to chat with you. For those who don’t know you yet, could you tell us a bit about yourself and what you do?

I’m Michelle Chan, founder of MISEICO and a certified skincare formulator. I combine my expertise in formulation with a passion for holistic wellbeing to create sustainable, pro-age solutions that support skin, hair, body, and overall wellness. Every product is rooted in science, powered by plants, and designed to simplify routines while nurturing confidence and vitality for empowered ageing. My purpose-driven mission is to help people embrace every stage of life with balance, radiance, and self-assurance.

The spark of MISEICO

What sparked the dream of Miseico? Was there a moment when you just knew this was what you wanted to create?

The spark came from a deeply personal place. Even as a certified skincare formulator, I struggled to find products that addressed the full spectrum of needs I faced at 54, navigating the transition from perimenopause to menopause. It wasn’t just my skin—it was hormonal imbalance, disrupted sleep, fluctuating energy, stress, and shifts in confidence.

I realised the beauty and wellness industry often overlooked these real-life experiences, focusing solely on “anti-aging” solutions. That was the turning point. I wanted to create a brand that redefined ageing—not just with high-performance, science-backed, plant-powered skincare, but also with targeted hair care, body care, and wellness elixirs designed to holistically support anyone navigating this transformative stage of life.

Every brand has its journey, full of both exciting and challenging moments. Was there a particularly difficult episode in MISEICO’s path? How did you overcome it?

Launching a self-funded brand during a period of personal and global uncertainty was daunting. I wondered if people would embrace a holistic, pro-age approach that prioritised genuine wellbeing and sustainable luxury over quick-fix, synthetic solutions. What kept me grounded were the early connections with customers—hearing how our products supported not just their skin and hair, but also their sleep, energy, and overall wellbeing reminded me why I started. Those moments of genuine human impact far outweighed any challenge.

Sustainable Essence

Sharing a focus on sustainability and building a mission-driven business is something very close to my heart. I’m elated to have your perspective on this. To start, I’d love to hear what sustainability in business means to you.

Sustainability is about integrity and responsibility—thinking beyond profit to create products and experiences that honour people and the planet. At MISEICO, this commitment spans every facet of our brand—from sourcing ingredients, formulating products, designing multifunctional, low-waste solutions, to eco-conscious packaging.

We also empower our customers to take part in sustainability through initiatives like tree planting with every purchase. Every decision is intentional because real sustainability is about long-term impact, not short-term convenience.

Making a positive impact is what MISEICO strives for. How do you define success for MISEICO, especially when it comes to sustainability and making a difference?

Success isn’t just measured in numbers—it’s found in the quiet, meaningful moments. When a customer shares that our products helped them sleep better, feel more energetic, navigate hormonal shifts, or embrace their skin with confidence, that is true success. It’s also witnessing our sustainability initiatives, like tree-planting programs, make a tangible difference for the planet.

Diving into the heart of your products, could you tell us more about the sustainable practices that are non-negotiables for MISEICO? How do you maintain this commitment in every product you create?

Our non-negotiables are clear: PETA-certified 100% vegan, cruelty-free, plant-powered ingredients; multifunctional, low-waste formulations; and eco-conscious, recyclable packaging. Every product reflects our commitment to holistic wellbeing and environmental stewardship. We never compromise on efficacy or ethics, even when it requires more effort.

Design and Eco-Consciousness

Choosing to work with me for your branding and sustainable packaging needs was a big decision. What made my studio stand out for you?

Your studio stood out because you understand that branding is more than aesthetics—it’s about storytelling. You captured the essence of MISEICO: luxury, pro-age, holistic wellness, and sustainability, translating our vision into a design that feels authentic, elevated, and meaningful.

The collaboration was inspiring, thoughtful, and highly creative. You took the time to understand the soul of MISEICO, asking insightful questions and elevating our values through design. It didn’t feel like a project—it felt like a partnership rooted in shared purpose and passion for meaningful impact.

Since unveiling your branding and packaging, what impact have you noticed? How have your customers responded to the look and feel?

The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Customers say that MISEICO “understands them”—not just their skin or hair, but their energy, wellbeing, and life stage. The packaging communicates luxury with conscience, showing that high-performance products can also be sustainable. It has strengthened our connection with a community that values both results and responsibility.

Yes—the balance of minimalist elegance and purposeful design. Every texture, color, and material reflects our philosophy of doing more with less, while celebrating pro-age beauty and holistic wellness. It’s understated luxury with an ethical heart.

What is your big dream for MISEICO? Are there any upcoming projects that particularly excite you?

The big dream for MISEICO is to inspire a global movement around holistic, pro-age wellbeing—to change how the world perceives ageing, empowering people everywhere to embrace this stage of life with confidence, vitality, and grace. Beyond creating effective, plant-powered products, I envision MISEICO becoming a trusted guide for mindful living, self-care rituals, and sustainable choices. From immersive wellness experiences to education and community initiatives, our goal is to touch lives internationally, showing that ageing can be celebrated, supported, and deeply fulfilling, while leaving a positive imprint on the planet.
