A chat with Lāer Studio - Designing a Sustainable Future With Giada Tamborrino

In celebration of Earth Day 2024, I had the pleasure of connecting with Rachel from Lāer Studio. Our conversation was both enriching and enlightening, exploring the layers of sustainable design and the impactful stories we weave through our work at Giada Tamborrino Studio. I shared my thoughts on the transformative role of sustainability in our industry and reflected on the journey of building mission-driven businesses.

“To me, sustainability in business isn’t one-size-fits-all; it’s a nuanced approach that depends on each brand’s unique context. It’s about making ethical choices the norm rather than the exception, and constantly challenging ourselves to do better.”

In our dialogue, I also delved into my personal journey—how my Italian roots and experiences from Reggio Emilia to London, then Amsterdam, have shaped my ethos and approach to design. This personal narrative is the heartbeat behind my passion for integrating sustainability with innovation.

Our chat highlighted our shared commitment to creating and meaningfully contributing to a more thoughtful world. I’m so grateful to Rachel and her team for this wonderful opportunity! You can dive into the full interview here.

“My work is a reflection of my belief that design can and should be a force for good, blending aesthetics with sustainability to make the world a better place, one design at a time.”
